We will be partnering with the Alton Boys and Girls Club again this year to provide participants in this program an opportunity to attend a one hour clinic session put on by one of our local basketball teams. The dates for the clinic are January 3rd or 5th. Participants will be placed on a team and once on a team, coaches will contact participants with practice times and their game schedule. Coaches will also contact their team to let them know the day and time in which they are scheduled for the clinic.
League practices and play focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, rules and skill learning. Practices begin in mid-December to early January with games beginning the end of January. Coaches will let you know when and where you will be practicing. A special "March Madness" game day will be held at the end of the season on Saturday, March 18 at the Riverbend Arena at the Lewis and Clark Community College Campus.
Participants shall play in the appropriate age group. League formation will depend on the number of participants signed up for the program. The Godfrey Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to place participants based on age and talent, and to add, change and amend rules and schedules as deemed necessary for the betterment of the program.
