Welcome to the Village of Godfrey, Illinois! Godfrey, located north of St. Louis, Missouri, is a thriving community, incorporated in April 1991.

The Village of Godfrey has a population of 17,982 and continues to grow. With a wonderful combination of friendly neighborhoods, beautiful parks, expansive river vistas and miles of rolling hills, Godfrey is a gem in the Riverbend Region.

Godfrey is proud of the high level of educational services delivered to our young people through the Alton Community Unit School District and several private educational facilities. Lewis and Clark Community College, located in the heart of Godfrey, affords a wealth of opportunities for those seeking an advanced education or fun-filled, non-credited courses.

The Village of Godfrey has several opportunities for residential and commercial development within our 36 square mile boundaries. With the completion of Illinois 255, many sites will be available for future residential and commercial development. The current Wal-Mart store located near the intersection of the Illinois 255 and Godfrey Road (US 67 / Illinois 111) will draw additional interest for future development.

As important as bricks and mortar and natural resources are, it is our wealth of friendly and caring people that make the Village of Godfrey truly a noteworthy place.

I would be pleased to have you stop by my office for a visit the next time you are in the Village.
