Pearl Street Construction Work – East of the Railroad Tracks

Construction work on Pearl Street between Humbert Road and the Railroad crossing is tentatively scheduled to start on Monday, October 5, 2020.  The work will consist of resurfacing Pearl Street from the railroad right of way west of Isabel Drive to the west side of Humbert Road.  The major items of work include milling, hot-mix asphalt resurfacing, tree removal, retaining wall and proposed sidewalk.  During construction working time, the street may be closed completely between Humbert Road and the Railroad crossing during construction time.  If the road is not completely closed it will be closed to one lane traffic only with flaggers.  Alternative traffic route is suggested during the construction working hours of 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.  The project work may go into the early month of December.  The Contractor for the project is RCS Construction, Inc.

The 2020 Micro-Surfacing Project:   Was Completed at the End of Day, Wednesday, September 16, 2020.  The streets in the subdivisions of Greenwood Meadows and Briarwick will have a surface treatment placed on their streets.  The contractor will be placing signage on Friday, September 11, 2020.  The plan is start around 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2020.  Work should be completed by the evening of Wednesday, September 16, 2020.

The Greenwood Meadows streets are Greenwood Lane, Morkel Drive, Meadow Lane, Hanei Drive, Van Preter Avenue and Enos Lane.  The Briarwick streets are Avon Court, Cambridge Court, Hampton Court, Van Preter Avenue, and portions of Doral Drive (From Enos Lane to the Briarwick Estates sign).

Parking will not be allowed on either side of the street in the project area.  Also streets receiving the treatment will be closed to traffic until the new surface has time to cures.

Mirco-surfacing is a surface treatment that is typically applied to asphalt pavement to help seal its surface and preserve its condition.  The micro-surface application is applied to the entire street surface between the curbs and helps provide a new wearing surface for the roadway.
