Street Closures

  • Illinois Department Of Transportation (IDOT) – West Delmar/Pierce Lane Roundabouts:  UPDATE June 22, 2026:  Starting on Monday, June 22, 2026, IDOT announced the closure of Cook Street between Greenwood Lane and Pierce Lane beginning Monday, June 22, 2026 weather permitting, for road reconstruction.  During the closure, access to properties within the work zone will be maintained via Illinois 3 using the newly constructed section of Cook Street.  The west portion of Cook Street will be closed to traffic.  This portion of work is expected to be completed by mid-August.  This work is part of a $10.2 million project that will construct a dual roundabout connecting Illinois 3, West Delmar and Pierce Lane.  Roundabout construction is anticipated to begin in August.
  • Brighton Water – Water line replacement in the Tremont/Springhaven Subdivisions:  UPDATE June 22, 2026:  Starting on Monday, June 22, 2026, Widman Construction will have crews that will be performing exploratory excavation within the Springhaven Subdivision.  This work is anticipated to continue for approximately two weeks.  During this period, construction equipment and support vehicles will be operating throughout the subdivision, with frequent travels along N. Humbert Road and Bethany Lane.  At this time, Widman Construction do not anticipate any road closures:  however, temporary one-lane traffic conditions may be necessary in certain areas to safely accommodate construction activities.  Widman Construction current plan is to complete all exploratory work on Mercury Drive first, followed by Saturn Drive, and then proceed through the remaining subdivision streets in sequence.  Widman Construction appreciate the residents patience and cooperation as this work is completed.
    UPDATE May 15, 2026: By the end of the day (May 15, 2026) Widman Construction will no longer be actively work on N. Humbert Rd. and Straube Ln.  They plan to move into the Tremont Subdivision and begin work on Tremont Dr.  Some of this work will begin today and continue into next week.  Partial road closures can be expected periodically during normal working hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.,  Monday through Friday.  Widman Construction asks that residents be refrain from street parking during working hours.  Widman will also be utilizing door hangers to notify residents to move their vehicles.  If vehicles are not moved as requested, towing may become necessary in order to complete the work safely and efficiently.
  • Pierce Lane – Street Section Replacement – POSTED 05/20/2026:  Access to the Rolling Hills Golf Course, on Pierce Lane, is now by the way by the intersection of Stamper Lane.  The Pierce Lane construction from Stamper Lane to The Rolling Hills Golf Course entrance is now open.  This part is only open to Local Traffic for the Golf Course.  Pierce Lane is NOW CLOSED from the Rolling Hills Golf Course entrance to the north of the end of the project.  Sorry for the inconvenience.
  • POSTED 10/31/2025:  There has been a change of schedule for Pierce Lane Closure.  Pierce Lane will now be closed on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.  Sorry for the inconvenience.
  • POSTED 10/28/2025 – Pierce Lane Closure:  Beginning the week of November 3, 2025, Pierce Lane will be closed between Stamper Lane north to the Rolling Hills Golf Course Parking lot entrance. This will be the beginning of the first phase of a two phase construction project which will involve the construction of a drainage system, retaining walls and concrete street and curbing construction for the Pierce Lane Phase 5 project.  Traffic Control for Detour routes will be set up before lane closure. Entrance for Rolling Hills Golf Course for this Phase 1 of the work will be coming in from the North side of the Golf Course either by using Winter Lane or Airport Road.  Traffic heading south on Pierce Lane to get to Stamper Lane will need to detour using Airport Road or Winter Lane and then getting on to Godfrey Road going south and then using Stamper Lane to access Pierce Lane to going south.  Traffic heading north on Pierce Lane must detour onto Stamper Lane then get onto Godfrey Road going north and then using either Winter Lane or Airport Road to access Pierce Lane.  The hope is to finish Phase 1 in about two months depending on weather and any unforeseen construction issues.   NEW NOTICE 10/30/2025:  Detour Signs will be installed on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

Street – Drainage Work

  • Thatcher Rd. Drainage Improvement Project.  – Work started on April 14, 2026.  The placement of the storm water structures has been mostly completed on May 12, 2026.  Waiting for ground to dry up to finish grading work and erecting fencing.
